Operational Stress Injury Service

The Operational Stress Injury Service (OSIS) is a specialized service offered through the Canadian Centre for CBT that is specifically tailored to the unique needs of RCMP members, military personnel and first-responders. We also serve families of those individuals. Our goal is to help people improve the quality of their lives through a better understanding of the nature of their mental health difficulties and how to address these difficulties. We do this by providing comprehensive psychological assessments, evidence-based treatments for identified mental health concerns, as well as family support.​​

What is an Operational Stress Injury?

An operational stress injury (OSI) is a term used to describe any persistent psychological difficulty resulting from duties performed during military or police service, first responder roles, or other high-stress operational environments. It is a broad category that includes any persistent psychological difficulty,

including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety, and substance use disorders, which can develop from exposure to traumatic events or prolonged stress. OSIs can have a significant impact on a person’s emotional well-being, relationships and job performance.

* Our clinicians are registered Blue Cross Providers and can complete Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) Disability Assessments, RCMP Psychodiagnostic Assessments, and assessments required for other workplace disability benefits.
