Grounded in a research-informed framework and clinically overseen by Dr. Michael Best, the program is designed to support recovery, resilience, and improved quality of life.

Assessments
Psychological assessments help clarify mental health needs, assist in diagnosis, guide treatment, and help with school or workplace accommodations.
We offer two main types of assessments:
Psychodiagnostic Assessments
These identify mental health conditions and inform treatment planning.
Comprehensive Psychological Assessments
These include diagnostic evaluation and cognitive testing (e.g., attention, memory, learning, and intellectual functioning). They can diagnose ADHD, learning disabilities, and autism spectrum disorder, and provide detailed cognitive profiles.
All assessments are completed by licensed psychologists and include a written report and feedback session.
Treatments
At CCCBT, our treatments are grounded in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), the gold standard for evidence-based psychotherapy. Depending on each client’s needs, our clinicians offer specialized treatments including Prolonged Exposure, Cognitive Processing Therapy and EMDR for PTSD, Cognitive Remediation, and Exposure Therapy.
Treatment is typically time-limited and goal-focused, designed to equip clients with practical tools and coping strategies they can apply independently. Most treatment plans last 10–20 sessions, though some may be longer depending on complexity and progress.
Our therapists work with clients aged 14 to 75, offering specialized care for adolescents, adults, and older adults with psychosis or mood disorders.

What is CBT?
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is one of the most scientifically supported forms of psychotherapy. It is based on the understanding that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are interconnected, and that changing unhelpful thought patterns can lead to positive changes in emotion and action.
In CBT, you and your therapist work together to:
Identify patterns that contribute to distress.
Develop healthier ways of thinking.
Practice new coping strategies between sessions.
Build long-term skills for managing life’s challenges.
CBT is collaborative, structured, and action-oriented, helping you move toward meaningful change in a clear, measurable way.

Virtual Care
All of our therapy sessions are offered through secure virtual video conferencing, allowing clients across Ontario to access expert care from the comfort of their own space.
During virtual sessions, therapists use digital whiteboards and shared resources to make sessions interactive and engaging — just like in-person care.
Virtual care ensures:
-
Convenience and flexibility for busy schedules
-
Privacy and comfort in your own environment
-
Access to specialized clinicians across locations
Our psychologists and therapists provide the same level of professional care virtually as they would in person, ensuring that distance is never a barrier to high-quality mental health support.
